TREATMENT PLANS
At your first visit you will receive a treatment plan that is specifically catered for you and the condition being treated. The frequency of treatments prescribed will depend on whether we are focusing on relief care, corrective care, or maintenance and wellness visits. Here we will set goals that we expect to achieve within the course of your treatments.

Your provider may also give you homework in the form of physical exercises, relaxation techniques, or therapies like moxa to at home do on your own. These ideas and suggestions are our expectations of you. The success of your treatment plan is dependent upon your ability to commit to the prescribed course of treatments as well as following the instructions and implementing changes that your provider has suggested.
FREQUENCY OF TREATMENTS
The frequency of treatments is entirely dependent on the condition and the overall health of the individual we are treating. Most acute conditions require a shorter number of visits spaced closely together (ie. every day or every other day for 2-4 visits). Chronic conditions usually require a longer course of treatments, 12-16 visits, scheduled at 2x per week (in rare cases 3-4x week if the severity of symptoms demands it.)
COMMITMENT
Acupuncture is a process. It is very rare for any acupuncturist to be able to resolve a problem with one treatment. In China, a typical treatment protocol for a chronic condition could be acupuncture every other day for three months! Most of our patients don't need that much acupuncture but virtually every patient requires a course of treatments, rather than a single treatment, in order to benefit from acupuncture.
Our patients are such effective marketers because they have a first-hand experience of how well acupuncture works. All of our satisfied patients basically made a commitment to a course of treatments.
SCHEDULING APPOINTMENTS
It is best if you can schedule out your course of treatments at your earliest convenience. Due to the rising demand of our services appointments can be difficult to come by, especially because we expect your visits to be spaced close together in a consistent manner as prescribed by your treatment plan. Community Acupuncture appointments are very popular, these shifts can be fully booked a month out, so get in the habit of scheduling your visits with as much advanced notice as possible. We have established wait lists for all of our Community Clinic shifts, because due to the volume of patients we see and the tendency for cancellations, when an opening comes up we call the first person on the wait-list.
